A Romantic Destination Wedding at Villa Medicea di Lilliano, Florence

If you're dreaming of a destination wedding in Italy, Villa Medicea di Lilliano in Florence offers the perfect blend of elegance, history, and Tuscan charm. I had the pleasure of capturing Catherine and Jordan’s stunning wedding at this enchanting venue, and every detail was straight out of a fairytale.

The day began with the bride and groom getting ready in separate suites, surrounded by their bridesmaids and groomsmen. The joyful anticipation filled the air as delicate, elegant wedding invitations set the tone for what was to come.

The ceremony took place in the villa’s picturesque garden, with lush greenery and panoramic views framing the couple as they exchanged their vows. The floral decorations were a true celebration of color, featuring soft blue tones, sunny yellows (enhanced by playful lemon accents), crisp whites, fresh greens, and a warm terracotta orange touch that added a hint of rustic charm.

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a classic Italian aperitivo in the villa’s scenic park, sipping prosecco and sampling local delicacies as the sun dipped low over the Tuscan hills. The reception took place on the villa’s panoramic terrace, where a single, stunning imperial table was set beneath twinkling candlelight. Elegant candelabras and floral centerpieces created a romantic, timeless ambiance that left everyone in awe.

This Villa Medicea di Lilliano wedding was a perfect example of Tuscan sophistication, combining refined aesthetics, unforgettable views, and heartfelt moments!

Cindy and Adam | A fairytale wedding at Castello di Celsa | Tuscany

Cindy and Adam's destination wedding in Italy was a two days celebration at 500 year old castle, nestled in the hills of Tuscany.

Cindy and Adam's destination wedding in Italy was a two days celebration at 500 year old castle, nestled in the hills of Tuscany. The inspiration was a pure Italian fairytale experience, from the romantic outdoor ceremony with a large amount of soft and colored flowers framing the couple under a floral arch, celebrated in the gardens overlooking the hills, to the reception, an intimate table set with 2 imperial tables, situated between the Italian chapel and the ancient walls of the castle as a unique background. Every detail, from the light wooden candlesticks, the crystal chandeliers, a soft and colorful palette of the floral arrangements, a touch of gold from the mise en place to the final surprising fireworks moment, gave to the newlyweds and their guests the most incredible magical night experience.

Romina + Philip - elegant castle wedding in Florence

We first met Romina and Phil last winter, for their engagement session in Florence, and instantly felt a connection with these two special souls! Living in Canada, but faithful to their Italian heritage, Romina and Philip decided that their vision for their special day should involve an Italian Castle: their choice was Vincigliata Castle, a straight-out-of-a-fairytale Medieval structure, not far from Florence, Tuscany.

Their day was perfectly planned and organized by Alessia B. Weddings, with amazing floral decorations by Il Giardino delle Fate Flowers. The getting ready took place in a uber stylish hotel in Florence city centre, with huge windows overlooking river Arno and Ponte Vecchio. For their religious ceremony, they chose one of the most stunning churches in town, San Filippo Neri, and then, the newlyweds escorted their guests to the reception venue, that was still a secret up to that point - and guess the surprise on their guests' faces when they arrived at such a magical spot in the heart of the Tuscan countryside!

The cocktail hour was held on the castle terrace and gardens, right before the most amazing al fresco dinner, in the castle inner court. With all the stonework, the ivy and the Medieval decor, not much needed to be added to the beautifully decorated u-shaped tables: just touches of gold, white linen and natural elements such as seasonal fruits and olive branches.
