Francesca + Filippo - couple session in the hills

You know how much we love to shoot couples: love sessions are just our fav, and we are even happier when our couples open the door of their houses to let us into their world. We really have the chance to know them better, and that's vitally important for our work. This time we couldn't be more at ease with this easy going, cat lover, tv series freak pair. And as they love the place where we live as much as we do, we just took the car and drove around the hills to find the best spots. And believe us, it was worth it.

Sapete quanto ci piace fotografare coppie: le love session sono fra i nostri servizi preferiti, e siamo ancora più felici quando le nostre coppie ci aprono le porte della loro casa, e ci lasciano mettere piede nel loro mondo. Riusciamo a conoscerli meglio, a diventare qualcosa in più di fotografi e clienti, e questo per noi è fondamentale per fare bene il nostro lavoro. Questa volta non potevamo trovarci più a nostro agio, con Francesca e Filippo: rilassati, divertenti, amanti dei gatti e delle serie tv, proprio come noi. In più, visto che anche loro adorano le nostre colline, non hanno avuto da ridire alla nostra idea di salire in macchina e semplicemente guidare senza meta, in cerca dei posti migliori. E credeteci, ne è valsa la pena.

Aurélia + François - destination wedding in Italy

Just imagine a French couple, who wants to get married in a little church up on a steep paved road in Switzerland, but also wants to party with in an old, fascinating Italian palace, with Italian food and wine. Done? Well, you have just imagined Aurélia and François' wedding day, planned to perfection by the super talented Laura Dova, with the help of amazing vendors like Fiori da Favola and Paola Bianchera Make Up.

This melting pot of countries, traditions and languages invaded the little village of Castello Cabiaglio, and with the help of the team at Palazzo Ronchelli, everyone had a place to stay for the night right there, among the Italian mountains and not far by the lovely lake Lugano.

And oh, the view when you reached the church in Morcote, Switzerland! The guests were so amazed they really couldn't help but staying a little more, taking some more pictures and simply enjoying the breathtaking views with a warm sun on their faces. Little did they know about what they would have found at the reception: dramatic and perfectly decorated imperial tables, some great aperitivi and a stunning dinner setup, and an all night long party.

Valentina + Domenico - a winter engagement

We are always a bit worried when planning an engagement session during winter. We know very well that light plays the most important role in our work, and winter round here can be foggy and moody: not exactly the light we love! Anyway, with Valentina and Domenico, we completely made up our minds: winter light can be beautiful, soft and dreamy as in the best summer sunsets, and we couldn't be happier with the way the photos turned out!

Of course, we also need to thank our subjects: the shared laughs, the way they look at each other, and their easy going mood really allowed us to connect with them. And in our work, connection with our clients is the key. 

Siamo sempre un po' in ansia quando programmiamo un servizio di coppia in inverno. Sappiamo molto bene che la luce gioca un ruolo fondamentale nel nostro lavoro, e l'inverno da queste parti prevede solitamente nebbia e grigiore: non esattamente il tipo di atmosfera che preferiamo! Eppure, con Valentina e Domenico, ci siamo dovute ricredere: la luce invernale può essere splendida, dolce e delicata, come quella dei migliori tramonti d'estate, e non potremmo essere più felici del risultato di queste foto.

Ovvio, dobbiamo ringraziare anche i nostri soggetti: le risate condivise, il modo in cui si guardano, la loro disinvoltura davanti all'obiettivo, ci ha davvero permesso di stabilire con loro una bella connessione, e questo è il vero segreto per far bene il nostro lavoro. 

Maddalena + Leonardo - a chic vintage wedding at Villa Gaia Gandini

The first time we set our eyes on Maddalena and Leonardo, in a crazy busy event in Milan, we thought they were one of the most stylish couples we've ever seen. In the following months, not only they confirmed our first impression, but we discovered they are also the most genuine and creative souls. As Maddalena is a super talented illustrator, she wanted to something special for her wedding, so she not only created by herself the sweetest stationery, but also decided to paint a little portrait for anyone of the guest. That's how we love our couples. Creative and patient, willing to make an effort to have the wedding of their dreams.

The setting of the day was Villa Gaia Gandini, a magnificent Italian villa with a river that runs just at the end of the garden.

Blush, pink and lavender for the bridesmaids, a dress that seems directly out of a fairytale, lots of personal details and the craziest dances at the end of the day. Enjoy, and get inspired!

La prima volta che abbiamo visto Maddalena e Leonardo, in un affollatissimo evento a Milano, abbiamo pensato che avessero davvero stile. Nei mesi successivi, non solo hanno confermato la nostra prima impressione, ma si sono rivelate due persone davvero genuine e incredibilmente creative. Maddalena è una bravissima illustratrice, e con l'idea di creare qualcosa di speciale per il matrimonio, non solo ha realizzato stupende partecipazioni, ma ha dipinto un piccolo ritratto su cavalletto per ognuno degli invitati, come segnaposto. Ecco le coppie che ci piacciono. Creative, pazienti, e con la voglia di fare uno sforzo in più per il loro giorno speciale.

La location scelta per la giornata è stata Villa Gaia Gandini, una splendida villa proprio sul naviglio grande.

Oltre a questo, colori pastello nei toni del rosa per i vestiti delle damigelle, un abito che sembra uscito direttamente da una fiaba, dettagli curati e personalissimi, e danze sfrenate a fine giornata.

Lucia + Andrea - an outdoor, relaxed wedding at Cascina Boscaccio

Qualche volta succede. Succede che una coppia si diverta davvero il giorno del matrimonio, e che l'atmosfera sia rilassata e gioiosa, come quella che ci si aspetta ad una festa fra amici. Succede che il matrimonio rifletta davvero la loro personalità, che sia pieno di dettagli, di minuzie pensate, scelte con amore, condivise. 

Certo, la coppia in questione dev'essere speciale. Li avete già conosciuti, su queste pagine: Lucia e Andrea, e Memole, sempre con loro, che avevamo fotografato in una tiepida giornata primaverile fra campi e laghi, e che ci hanno emozionato ancora una volta per quanto siano perfetti l'uno per l'altra. Come direbbero loro, "come pane e burro".

Sometimes it happens. It happens that you meet a couple who can really enjoy their wedding day, and the mood is like the one you would expected at a party with friends. It happens that they make their wedding truly their own, with details created by themselves, with love and care, to reflect their personality.

Of course, to have all of this you need to have a special couple. But we already knew them and knew they are one amazing pair. Lucia and Andrea, and their dog Memole. We shot their engagement session on a warm spring day, and on their wedding day we got emotional once again seeing how they look perfect together. As they would say, like bread and butter.
